Vodka

Vodka is one of the world’s most popular liquors and the second largest spirit category in New Zealand. Composed solely of water and ethanol, vodka is made from fermenting grain, rye, wheat, potatoes, rice, or sugar beet molasses. Vodka is commonly used in cocktails and mixed drinks, such as the Bloody Mary, the Screwdriver and the White Russian, but can also be consumed neat.

The Lion Nathan New Zealand vodka portfolio offers a range of traditional vodkas as well as some exciting flavoured vodkas for a twist on the usual.

42 Below

42 Below bottleMade with the pure softness of New Zealand spring water, 42 Below is a smooth rich spirit with soft aromas of aniseed, a toasty grainy flavour of the finest wheat and a long lingering finish with a hint of sweetness. Also available in Kiwi, Passionfruit, Feijoa and Honey flavours, 42 Below is great in simple cocktails, mixed drinks or just gently on the rocks – Smooth.

Cîroc

Most vodkas are produced from common starches such as wheat or potatoes, but there are other, more uncommon ways to create vodka. Cîroc is one of these uncommon vodkas, distilled from carefully selected fine French grapes – including the exclusive Ugni blanc and Mauzac blanc grapes grown in vineyards nestled in the Gaillac and Cognac regions of France.

It is here, in one of the oldest wine-growing areas in France, that Cîroc gets its true character. Cîroc marries tradition and the spirit of invention to produce one of the world’s most extraordinary vodkas. The grapes are picked at their peak of ripeness and small batches are distilled in copper pots five times – capturing the true essence and flavour of the grape. The final result is a taste experience that is refreshingly uncommon and elegantly smooth.

Cossack

Cossack Vodka is produced from the finest grains. It has a very mild elusive aroma and mild flavour and is bottled in New Zealand.

Grey Goose

Grey Goose Vodka is a super premium vodka created in Cognac France from the best ingredients the region has to offer. Combining 100% fine French wheat, a five step distillation process and purified artesian spring water, Grey Goose is the pinnacle of high quality vodka. These elements combine to create a smooth, soft, refined and buttery vodka. The original vodka is complemented by three flavour variants, La Poire, Le Citron and L’Orange, crafted in an all-natural process that blends natural flavour essences with Grey Goose original.

Ketel One

Ketel One bottleKetel One is produced at the Nolet Distillery in Schiedam Holland, which was founded by Joannes Nolet in 1691 and is now owned by the family’s 11th generation. Made from wheat, Ketel One is named after the original copper pot still, ‘Distilleerketel #1’.

The first and last 100 gallons of the liquid are discarded and only the core of each distillate is kept to provide consumers the finest, smoothest, ultra-premium product. Ketel One’s Master Distiller oversees the creation of this handcrafted product utilising traditional copper pot distillation. Each batch of vodka is then tasted by a member of the Nolet family to approve the product’s right to bear the Ketel One name.
